About Us

The University of the West Indies Alumni Association UWIAA was established under the University Royal Charter, the document which established the UWI as a corporate entity. The UWIAA (Trinidad and Tobago Chapter) i.e. UWIAATT is the representative body of the estimated more than 40,000 UWI Alumni resident in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Trinidad and Tobago Chapter was re-activated in November 1988 and has since then cultivated several signature activities and events that have typified its motto "We give something back to the UWI"

The UWIAATT 'gives back' to the UWI through its mix of fund raising and student development programmes such as the Wine and Cheese Festival, Distinguished Alumni Awards, Student Mentorship Programme and bursary programmes.

Benefits of joining the UWIAATT include amongst others:
  • Building professional and social contacts
  • Networking with well-connected, influential alumni and corporate representatives
  • Participation in University and Alumni events
  • Reading privileges at the UWI Main Library
  • Access to the UWI swimming pool, tennis courts, gym and associated facilities
